With many of us finding that we have more free time then why not explore and listen to the wonderful world of podcasts, either via your computer, tablet or even on your smartphone.

A podcast is an on-demand audio content (think radio) series made available on the Internet and delivered to your computer or your smartphone - you can listen to episodes of the podcast whenever you want, wherever you want, and however you want.

There are estimated to be over 700,000 podcast episodes available, on just about every subject imaginable.

And then there are podcast content Aggregators, who provide you with a directory of different podcast series within a number of different subjects: examples include Apple Podcast, Google Podcast,Spotify, Stitcher, Podchaser, iHeartRadio, etc, plus organisations such as the BBC.

Where to start? We have provided examples of podcasts across a range of interests including the Arts, History, Current Affairs News and Politics, Science and Technology, Sports and Recreation, etc.

A reminder that if you are listening via a smartphone, you normally have a choice of listening directly via your WiFi internet connection, or downloading the podcast to listen to when you are, say, out for a walk.
