Hillingdon u3a Photography Group

We welcome new members. Just contact Brian and come along to a monthly meeting to find out more. You don’t need to be expert, you might just like taking pictures or want to improve your work. We use Smart Phones, and all sorts and sizes of cameras to take our pictures.

At our monthly meetings, we have a talk by a member on a photography subject such as picture composition, perspective, portraits or contrast. Then we have a tea break for a chat followed by a display of our photos entered in our two monthly competitions.

The first competition is a themed subject such as reflections, canals or night shots. The second is for the Shot of the Month which is anything that you have taken in the last few months.

To enter, you just email your photos to our competition organiser who loads them onto a Google album where members can see them and vote for their favourites. We then display them at the meeting to review and discuss their merits. There is of course no compulsion to enter.

We also have a yearly photoshot outing where we choose a photogenic place such as Windsor to take photos. These photos then become the themed competition for the next meeting.
